Jonny Fritz (previously going by Jonny Corndawg when we first met him back in 2011) is now an ATO Records recording artist with a new album (‘Dad Country’). When the “Goodbye Summer” video (shot MOS) needed the sound of fireworks, I was more than happy to help out.

History Channel’s new drama, “Vikings” premiered in March 2013 to critical acclaim and strong ratings (a second season of the show was quickly announced). Throughout the launch, I mixed a variety of spots and promo material for the a show – including pieces for Direct TV, a presentation for Wondercon 2013, and 18 interstitial behind-the-scenes clips that aired with the show.
Here is one of the interstitials, featuring show creator Michael Hirst:

The promo campaign for History Channel’s Top Gear (Season 2) was a lot of fun to work on, as the producers really wanted music and sound-design to take center stage (many of the shorter variations were music and sound-design only, no soundbites from the show). Below, you can see one of the 60-second broadcast spots.

For those who aren’t familiar, a read-along is a multimedia product designed to help young children learn to read. The package consists of a book, combined with an audio program on CD (and in the past, records or cassettes). Throughout the course of 2010 and 2011, I worked on creating original sound-design for over a dozen of these products for Walt Disney Records and Disney Publishing Worldwide. Collaborating with producers Jeff Sheridan and Ted Kryczko, I contributed to titles such as Cars 2, The Lion King, Tangled, The Little Mermaid, Bambi, and Winnie The Pooh. In addition to the traditional book and CD packages, a handful of the projects that I worked on have been turned into eBooks, as well as iPhone and iPad apps.

This web-series was produced by Machinima to help promote the release of Volition’s ‘Red Faction: Armageddon’ videogame. Utilizing the game’s software engine, an original story was created to serve as a parallel narrative to that of the game itself, thus showcasing Armageddon’s characters and design. No sound from the game was available, so all of the sound effects for this futuristic, sci-fi environment had to be created (aliens, weapons, etc). In addition to the FX work, I had a lot of fun in the mix and working with the excellent score by Randall Crissman. You can check out the whole series here.
